My group ranks third globally in research productivity!

on Mon, 02/07/2011 - 20:09

This year, my group of fellow IS researchers consisting of Benn Konsynski, Ramnath Chellappa, Anandhi Bharadwaj, and me (Mike Prietula and Maryam Alavi have both focused on other areas recently) were ranked as the third most productive group in information systems research globally! You can see the analysis at ZD Net article.

What is interesting, is that we are being compared with groups who have 10+ members at other schools. If you did in to the statistics in the report, you will see that the Association for Information Systems (AIS) actually lists six top journals for IS research. (http://home.aisnet.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=345) If you look at the past two years, you will see three articles of mine in that list:

Journal of Management Information Systems A Meta-Theory for Understanding Information Systems Within Sociotechnical Systems Robert Bostrom, Saurabh Gupta, Dominic Thomas 2009

MIS Quarterly VITAL SIGNS FOR VIRTUAL TEAMS: AN EMPIRICALLY DEVELOPED TRIGGER MODEL FOR TECHNOLOGY ADAPTATION INTERVENTIONS Dominic Thomas, Robert Bostrom 2010

European Journal of Information Systems Team leader strategies for enabling collaboration technology adaptation: team technology knowledge to improve globally distributed systems development work Dominic Thomas, Robert Bostrom 2010
