Web 2.0 = power. [For those unlcear on Web 2.0, here is a seminar article.] We see a trend in leveraging the parallel processing capacity of individuals through distributed information management in Wikis and other forms where people can vote and Sites can now dynamically update themselves. Think of how it used to be done. I decided I need to take a look at top 50 lists on the Web and collect my thoughts. Start with this list from Yahoo! News. Someone had to create this list and freeze it into a presentation. It will not update itself though the information will change very quickly. Ratings in more dynamic media and Sites can do this dynamic updating, resolving an information bottleneck. The key is a technology allowing easy "mash-up" of data sources into user-friendly interfaces by the average user. One leader here is Kapow server.
