Glossary for RFID Survey

This page contains definitions for those taking the RFID adoption and integration survey as of Spring 2007.

• adoption: the decision to commit resources to the technology for actual operation usage beyond pilot testing.
• initiation: evaluation of the technology for possible future use (i.e. may include pilot testing but does not include a commitment to adopt or continue using the technology in an on-going basis).
• integration: using data from the technology with the existing systems and processes (& any new systems and processes) in the organization (i.e. implementing the technology following the decision to adopt and actually using it).
• pre-adoption evaluation: see "initiation"
