Flying Cars...

So, how long will it take for flying cars to be commonplace? Will they ever? As of this week, there is a viable flying car that will be on the market for under $200,000 in the near future.
What implications will this have f
or the average person? Probably very few. What about rural areas and businesses? There are thousands of runways on farms and in small towns. Commuting between these locations will become less of a chore. But what could become possible? source: http://jalopnik.com/5173389/terrafugia-flying-car-makes-first-flight Several possibilities highlighted here including the Terrafugia concept. If they are ever to work, they will need a technology called "synthetic vision." It allows individuals to see exactly where they are and where they are going under all conditions including complete fog. Interesting? Here is a little bit about it.
Overall, are flying cars a pipe dream? I doubt it. The corporate jet parket is booming. Traffic is increasing. Commercial airline regulations make commercial travel daunting. Even within the regular flying market, we can see improvements and pushes for better economy, reliability, and usefulness. Some leaders in this space include manufacturers such as Avanti and airlines such as Virgin Airlines.
